Independents for Community Radio (ICR) 2011 Goals
*Generate and support local, hard-hitting, radical journalism right here in the Bay *
*Prioritize coverage of - and collaborative program generation with - underrepresented Bay Area communities that have little access to other media. *
*Allocate resources to support volunteer programmers by covering production expenses, supplies and transportation, to increase KPFA's reach - sustainably. *
*Set up digital channels to trial-run new show ideas, offer special events for specific audiences, and build training opportunities for newer programmers.*
*Budget conservatively for tough economic times and rebuild the rainy day reserve. *
*Work cooperatively with the Pacifica Foundation. Due to YOUR hard work, Pacifica is now member-elected and accountable at every level. The time to spit at Pacifica is over. Now is the time to collaborate in increasing the scope of this national progressive media voice and support Democracy Now, Free Speech Radio News, and our over 60 years of progressive heritage in sound. *
